About Zombabble
Zombabble is a free zombie typing game you play right in your browser. Cartoon zombies shuffle out of the graves and toward your fence, and every one of them carries a word over its head. Type the word: every letter you press throws a glowing letter at that zombie, and the last one sends it back to bed with a POOF of purple smoke. Don't let them reach the fence, because they're after your pizza, your cupcakes and your birthday cake.
It's one of those typing games that feel like a real game. The first letter you type picks your target, so you decide which zombie to stop first. Speedy Skeletons carry short words, Big Bruno carries a long one, Shield Zombies need two words (knock off the pot lid first), Boo ghosts split into two tiny ghosts, and every fifth night the Zombie King stomps in with a whole sentence to type, one word at a time. Type perfect words in a row for big combos, and type the word on a passing balloon to freeze the zombies, blast them with confetti or fix your fence.
Zombabble is made for kids: the zombies are goofy, not scary, there's no blood, and every word is friendly. The 20 nights start slow with short words and get faster and trickier through the Pumpkin Patch, the Moonlit Graveyard, the Whispering Woods and Frosty Hill. Pick Easy, Normal or Hard, and after every battle see your words per minute (WPM), your accuracy and the keys that slowed you down. It's real typing practice that never feels like practice.
When you've beaten the nights, play Endless to see how many waves you can hold, with spooky words, everyday words, long tricky words or only the home row keys. Come back every day for the daily battle: the same zombies and the same words for everyone, with a streak to keep. Win stars to unlock 12 heroes. Zombabble works on computers, Chromebooks, tablets and phones, it's free, and there's nothing to download.

How to play Zombabble
- 1
Pick a zombie
Type the first letter of a word over a zombie's head. That zombie is now your target and its word lights up.
- 2
Type its word
Type the rest of the word. Every right letter throws a letter at the zombie; the last one sends it back to bed. Poof!
- 3
Guard the fence
Zombies that reach the fence bang on it. If the fence breaks, they eat your snacks and the night is lost.
- 4
Combos and balloons
Perfect words in a row make a combo for more points. Type the word on a balloon to freeze the zombies, blast them with confetti or fix your fence.

Tips for Zombabble
Closest first
Type the words of the zombies nearest your fence first. Faraway zombies can wait.
Accuracy wins
A wrong key doesn't hurt the zombie and breaks your combo. Typing a little slower without mistakes stops more zombies.
Shields need two words
Grey words are shields. Type the shield word first to knock it off, then the zombie's real word.
Save the balloon for trouble
A balloon floats across slowly. If lots of zombies are near the fence, type the balloon's word: freeze or confetti can save the night.
Use Backspace to switch
Picked the wrong zombie? Press Backspace to drop your target, then type the first letter of another word.
Frequently asked questions
Is Zombabble free?
Yes. Zombabble is a free zombie typing game that runs in your web browser. There's nothing to download, nothing to buy and no account to make.
What is a zombie typing game?
A zombie typing game is a typing game where words come at you on zombies, and typing each word stops that zombie. In Zombabble every letter you type throws a glowing letter at the zombie, and finishing the word sends it back to bed in a puff of smoke. The faster and more accurately you type, the more zombies you stop before they reach your fence.
Is Zombabble scary?
No. The zombies are goofy cartoon characters who are just hungry for snacks, and when you type their word they go back to bed with a POOF and a few floating Zzz. There's no blood and no gore, and all the words are friendly, so it's fine for young kids.
Can Zombabble help me learn to type?
Yes. The nights start with short, easy words and slowly bring in longer words, faster zombies and sentences, so you practise without noticing. After every battle you see your words per minute, your accuracy and the keys you missed most. In Endless you can practise only the home row keys, everyday words or long tricky words.
How is my typing speed worked out?
Speed is in words per minute (WPM): every 5 letters you type correctly count as one word. Because you sometimes wait for the next zombie, Zombabble counts the time you spend typing, not the time spent waiting, so your WPM shows how fast you really type.
How do I beat the Zombie King?
The Zombie King comes at the end of nights 5, 10, 15 and 20. His sentence is shown at the top of the screen: type it one word at a time, and each word knocks him back a little. Clear the zombies he calls in, keep typing, and he goes to bed too.
What do the balloons do?
Balloons float across the sky carrying power-ups. Type the word on a balloon to use it: the blue one freezes every zombie for five seconds, the red one sends every zombie on screen to bed with a confetti bomb, and the green one fixes your fence.
Can I play Zombabble on a phone, tablet or Chromebook?
Yes. On a phone, hold it upright: the zombies and their words sit above the on-screen keyboard. A tablet with a keyboard plays just like a computer, and Zombabble is built to run smoothly on school Chromebooks.
Is there a daily challenge?
Yes. The daily battle gives everyone the same zombies, the same words and the same boss sentence each day. Play every day to build a streak, and share your score to challenge your friends.
Does Zombabble save my progress?
Yes. Your stars, heroes and best scores are saved automatically in the browser you play in. Clearing your browser data resets them.
