About Mowtopia
Mowtopia is a free lawn mowing game you can play online, right in your browser. The whole neighbourhood has let its grass grow wild, and you're the new lawn pro in town. Drive your mower over the tall grass and watch it fall: every blade you cut is gone, the clippings fly out of the chute, and the lawn behind you turns into real stripes, light and dark, just like a freshly mown football pitch.
Every job is a different place with its own client. Start in Grandma Rosie's backyard with a little push mower, then trim Mr. Pebble's front yard, Puppy Park (Biscuit the dog trots after you), the school field, a lily pond park and a Halloween pumpkin patch. Later you take on a soccer pitch, an apple orchard, a royal hedge maze, a golf course, a giant farm meadow, the Grand Stadium and, last of all, the gardens of Mowtopia Castle.
When your grass bag is full, drive to the green compost bin to empty it and get paid. Spend your coins in the garage on more speed, wider blades, a bigger bag and a stronger engine for thick grass, or buy a bigger mower: a ride-on, a lawn tractor, a zero-turn that spins on the spot and finally Mowzilla, the three-deck mega mower. Paint your mower in your favourite colour too.
Mow 90% of a lawn to finish the job, every single blade for a second star, and keep off the flower beds for the third. Tall grass hides gold coins, gems, puffy dandelions and 26 lost treasures for your lost and found album, from Grandma's keys to a golden gnome. It's a calm, satisfying grass cutting game with no timer and no way to lose, and it plays on phones, tablets and computers with nothing to download.

Tips for Mowtopia
Mow in straight lines
Going back and forth in rows is the fastest way to cover a lawn, and it makes the best stripes.
Empty the bag on the way
Passing close to a compost bin empties the bag a little, so plan your rows to end near a bin.
Upgrade the bag early
A bigger bag means fewer trips to the bin and more time mowing.
Engine for thick grass
Dark, extra-tall grass slows small engines down. Engine power or a bigger mower fixes that.
Follow the arrow
At 97% a yellow arrow points to the last tall patches. The minimap shows them too.
Frequently asked questions
Is Mowtopia free?
Yes. Mowtopia is a free lawn mowing game that plays in your browser. There's nothing to download, no account to make and nothing to buy: every mower and upgrade is bought with coins you earn by mowing.
What is a lawn mowing game?
In a lawn mowing game (or mowing simulator) you drive a mower over long grass and cut it short. Mowing games became very popular because watching tall grass turn into neat stripes is so satisfying. Mowtopia adds 13 different lawns, bigger mowers to save up for, flower beds to steer around and treasures hidden in the grass.
Can I play Mowtopia on my phone?
Yes. Put your finger anywhere on the screen and drag: the mower drives the way you drag. It works held upright or sideways, on phones and tablets as well as on computers with a mouse or keyboard.
How do I get all three stars?
Mow at least 90% of the lawn for the first star, cut every single blade for the second, and don't drive over any flower beds for the third. Near the end, a yellow arrow and a glowing ring show where you missed a spot, and the map in the corner shows the grass that's left.
Which mower should I buy first?
Upgrade the bag and speed of your push mower first, then save up for Buzzy the ride-on mower ($900). Big lawns with thick grass, like the farm meadow, go much faster with engine power and a bigger mower such as the lawn tractor or the zero-turn.
Is Mowtopia OK for kids?
Yes. It's a calm game with no violence, no chat, no timer and no way to lose. Kids can mow at their own pace, and the controls are just one finger or the arrow keys.
Does Mowtopia save my progress?
Yes. Your coins, mowers, upgrades, stars and lost and found album save automatically in the browser you play in, and a half-mown lawn is kept too, so you can stop any time and carry on later. Clearing your browser data resets the game.
