About Ragnarrow

Ragnarrow is a free stickman archery game you can play online, right in your browser. You are one small archer on a flying tower, high above a Norse world, and Viking raiders keep arriving on floating rocks and balloon boats. Press, pull back, hold to draw and let go: a real bow and arrow game where gravity, wind and your own aim decide every shot.

Every stickman is a wobbly physics body. Arrows knock helmets off, send raiders stumbling and shove them right off their rocks, and every fall is different. It works the other way too: a good hit puts you on your back, and if you get pushed off your tower the run is over.

Fight through five realms, Meadowhold, Frostfjord, Emberforge, Stormsea and Skyhall, each with its own boss. Beat one and you open a chest, pick a new arrow to keep, and your whole tower flies through the clouds to the next realm. There are 16 arrows to find, from a plunger that sticks to a raider's face to a hailstorm that rains from the sky.

Want to play with a friend? Ragnarrow is also a 2 player archery game: fight each other in Versus or side by side against the raiders in Together, on one keyboard or one touch screen, or duel the CPU on four levels. It is cartoon fun with no blood, no ads and no sign-up, and it plays on computers, tablets and phones held sideways.

What every arrow does

You start with the plain Arrow, which never runs out. Buy more in the shop with the gold you win, or pick one from the chest after each boss. Your quiver starts small and can grow to three slots, and you can try every arrow first.

ArrowWhat it does
PlungerNo damage, but it sticks and stuns. Very funny
SplitThree arrows in a fan
FrostFreezes the target; a heavy hit then shatters the ice
EmberBurns foes and sets wood alight
GustA blast of wind that blows foes off the edge
BoomerangComes back if it misses
ThunderStuns and chains to nearby foes and metal
LassoYanks a foe toward you, off their rock
BubbleTraps a foe and floats them up. Pop it for a fall
DrillGoes through helmets, shields and logs
RavenA little raven that gently homes in
BoomExplodes with a big shove
Bee-hiveBees chase a foe and sting a few times
HammerHeavy and straight, with huge knockback
HailstormSmall arrows rain down where it lands

How to play with 2 players

Open 2 Players on the start screen. Versus puts you on two towers with an obstacle between you, and the first to win 3 rounds takes the match. Together puts you both on one tower against the raiders.

On one keyboard the left player aims with W and S, holds D to draw and jumps with Left Shift. The right player aims with the up and down arrows, holds the left arrow to draw and jumps with Right Shift. On a phone or tablet each player owns their half of the screen.

How to play Ragnarrow

  1. 1

    Aim

Press anywhere and pull back, away from where you want to shoot, like a slingshot. If you would rather point at your target, change Aim style in Settings.

  2. 2

    Draw and let go

Hold to draw the bow, then let go. A full draw flies fast and flat; a short one drops early. There is no aim line, so watch where your arrows land and correct from there.

  3. 3

    Hit the head

Headshots do the most damage. Helmets, armour and shields take the first hits, then fly off.

  4. 4

    Stay on your feet

Jump over arrows you see coming. If you get knocked flat, press Jump to get up. You can still shoot from the floor, but only wildly.

  5. 5

    Watch your stamina

Holding a drawn bow, shooting and jumping all use the blue bar, and it comes back when you rest. When it runs low your arms shake and your shots go weak.

Tips for Ragnarrow

  • Read your last arrow

Your missed arrows show you how far off you were. Change your aim a little from there instead of guessing again.

  • The first shots are a warning

A new raider's first shots fly past on purpose. Use that moment to hit them before they find their range.

  • Don't hold too long

A drawn bow eats stamina. Aim first, then draw and let go.

  • Shove them off

A raider who falls off a rock is gone, whatever their health. Lasso, Gust, Boom and Hammer are great for this.

  • Shoot the runes

Runes drift across the sky. Hit one with an arrow to take it. When you are tired, a blue stamina rune soon drifts in.

  • Keep away from the edge

Big hits shove you back. If you fall off your tower, the run ends unless you have an extra life.

  • Learn the bosses

Each boss has a trick. If Jarl Brenna's shield glows, take out the bearer, or wait for it to drop.

Frequently asked questions

Is Ragnarrow free?

Yes. Ragnarrow is a free archery game that plays in your browser. Everything in the game is unlocked with gold you win by playing. There is nothing to buy and no sign-up.

Are there ads in Ragnarrow?

No. There are no ads in the game.

Can 2 players play?

Yes. Versus and Together both work on one keyboard or one touch screen, so you can play a 2 player archery game with a friend sitting next to you. There is no online play.

Does it work on a phone or a Chromebook?

Yes. It runs in the browser on computers, Chromebooks, tablets and phones. Phones play it sideways, so turn yours when the game asks. On slower devices the game lowers its detail by itself.

Is there blood?

No. Hits make dust, feathers and cartoon words, and beaten raiders just tumble away. It is a stickman game that is fine for kids.

How do I get up when I am knocked down?

Press Jump: Space on a keyboard, or the Jump button on a touch screen. A red label appears over your archer to remind you. You stay down until you press it, and you can still fire wild shots from the floor.

Why are my shots weak?

Your stamina is low. Holding a drawn bow uses it fastest, so draw, shoot and rest. Calm, aimed shots keep the blue bar healthy, and blue runes fill it up.

Is Ragnarrow unblocked?

Ragnarrow is a normal website game on zoomygames.com. Whether it opens on a school or work network depends on that network's own filters; we don't try to get around them.

Does Ragnarrow save my progress?

Yes. Gold, upgrades, arrows and looks save automatically in your browser, and so does a run in progress: press Continue to carry on. Clearing your browser data removes it.
